VFX Evaluation

Title Sequence Evaluation

I was really looking forward to this project as I am interested in becoming a title designer / Motion graphics designer. I was really stuck at the beginning as I could decide on what to make a title sequence for. I had some ideas like playing around with double exposure like the true detective title but also playing with shapes that went with the music. I didn’t really know what I was doing so I thought that maybe I should just play around on after effects and experiment with it.When finding what to make a title sequence for, I realised that I will always be comparing it to its original title sequence which was hard and to move away from it. So I made one for a brief film idea I have Called REVERSIBLE. I don’t have a full story on what its about but It holds mystery and crime and the idea of being chased. I wanted that to come thought in the title which I feel that I have achieved by making the circles and lines chase and look for each other.I also looked into what colours to use for this and Red was obvious colour to use as it symbolises danger and is the colour of blood. I also used black as the film is mostly set at night time and the character has a dark mysterious pasted. I also used white as the character is finding a way out and looking for the lights.

Here is me adding key frames to the scale so that the text and Circles pop up when the music hits I also added a Invisible circle so that when the text gets bigger the Invisible circle goes across the text.

This is me making the blood rain and moving it . I also wanted to add a Lighting flash which i just did by key framing the colour.

Here is me adding a Repeater on the Red circles which i ended up key framing the copies and Position

for the lines i adding trim paths so that the line would move though one end of the screen to the other and the I changed the Position and scale.

Overall i am happy with what I have made if I had more time I would go back and make the shapes more in time as I noticed at the beginning the circles don’t come up when the 2nd beat. I also enjoyed experimenting I'm finding new and easier ways of doing things like adding a repeater on shapes instead of creating new shapes. But I really like how Simple it looks and how the Shapes move.
