Portrait Idea 2

My 2nd ideas is more about someones movement within a photo and how time can be Captured in a Photograph. One of my Favourites types of photo I like to take is long light Exposure as it some where the light has Travelled and it makes you think about how long was the shutter speed open for.
I am also very interested In time and how Confusing and misleading it can be and how do you Capture time. so I started to take photos of people moving with the shutter speed open for about 15 Seconds. I also used the blue flash light in some of the photos to see if it shows a more Interesting effect.

  1. loooooooooooooooooooooong exposure.
Find the movement in these shots really interesting - the first 2 monochrome shots are the best in my opinion as the subjects expression is memorable of a deer in the headlights. As well as a victorian camera flare.

  2. I feel you portrayed time and movement effectively. I also like how in the second image there is a sense of mystery, yet you can still get a glimpse of the subjects identity.

  5. The first images are really snazzy. The layering of peoples faces through movement is interesting and effective as you have to really look to figure out which part of the picture is which part of the face. I like that you experimented with different colours.

  7. It feels like your alluding to memories. As the brain can't remember faces clearly it feels like they're all forgotten memories. You could experiment with keeping some features as they could be the most significant to you. The second black and white one and the last image have a really intense gaze. Is gaze something that you are interested in?

  8. It's really nice in these kind of photos when you can see 1 or 2 expressions coming through the image from under all the blur/colour etc

  9. Although not his main area of work, it reminds me of Gerhard Richter's portraits. Also, I really like how they look like photobooth photographs like on the more recent editions of Tracey Emin's autobiography, Strangeland. Identification photography could be an area to explore further.
