R1 Ideas

When it came to ideas I was a bit lost and I didnt know if i wanted to go more of a Film path way or more art installation.

What I Enjoy and would like to Improve on

- Camera
- Editing
- Motion graphics
-Sound

so I started to think about my Previous work and I Realise that I always seem to work with the ideas of space and last year in both maps + networks and  fields + Frames there was some Element of spaces.

And last year in fields and frames which was me questioning spaces using Different Technological Methods and Mediums to alter space and how it effects objects within a space.
And I said

I would like to take this further and Experiment more with Physical space and how our bodies Interact with Objects within a space.

I think I still want to work with this idea but more on how people Interact within a space.

Barbican's Rain Room

Here I look at the Barbican's Rain Room. which is an Installation where you can walk in to this room where it is raining but without getting wet. I feel that this piece reflects the relationship between us and machine and how we Interact with this space.

Ryoji Ikeda

I also looked at Ryoji Ikeda. who makes work Converting data from sounds, photos and videos and turns them monochrome binary patterns that are generated in real-time and envelop the viewer in a disorientating, highly-charged kinetic environment. I liked how it was disorientating and jarring but it also didnt want to leave .I also liked how you wasnt just bombarded with the Constant flickering of patterns but also the sound.

Few Ideas came up

- Illusions So maybe tricking people, making them believe a space is either big or smaller
Using Certain colours as lighter colours can make spaces seem bigger.

- hypnotising , making people Relax in a space or become Mesmerised and lost in patterns

this made me think about year 1 when i was codeing using processing and having fast paced movements

- I was think about a space that Draws you in visually (so colour and patterns) and then it becomes jarring or have sound that will kind of want people to leave or Vibration

tutorial -Bruce Nauman - Bald head Opera Singer and room with words.

- Then I thought about going back to Digital space and creating 360 VR space where you are Experiencing these hypnotising pattern but the Audience gets to pick eg. Calming
