This series is about how one place can be divided as if you were in two different places, depending on your perspective and how the gentrified version of Woolwich has changed this place. Modern buildings are now being placed where there is strong historical significance, replacing the old with the new.

    I love the development process of this idea and the end result I absolutely adore. I love the cut up effect it has but how it also all links together.

    I love how the 'boring' colours blend both locations together, it poses the question why are they so different when they're the same

    Visually I think that your images are strong, theres a lot going on in the frame which is interesting to read into, the overlayed effect could have allowed more to be shown with the faded part of the image even just slightly showing us more would have been more effective.

    I think that your exploration is really interesting. I felt like there was a lot you could get into and it was obvious you did. I like the overlaying of your final image. You could have combined similar looking areas and put them next to each other so it was almost the same place but they juxtaposed

The ideas that I want to try out  Idea one - The idea of when we take a photo of ourselves we prepare to look good or have the need to make ourself look attractive and i wanted to do the opposite of that and kind of create a photo that shows that Beauty does not Define us. I also wanted to distort the face in some way. so I thought about using tape to do that. Ideas two -I then thought about how time and movement can be Captured within a Photograph. I am also very interested In time and how Confusing and misleading it can be and how do you Capture time. so I started to take photos of people moving with the shutter speed open for about 1/2 to about 5 Seconds. I also used the blue flash light in some of the photos to see if it shows a more Interesting effect Little experriments  Here are some experiments that I did just to get started on .

Portrait Idea 1

As I have a few ideas for portrait I thought that I should start with this one as I was Interested on how it will turn out. I wanted to get portraits of people with a Distorted face as you don't normally see many people taking photos of them self in a oddly way as I feel that the media has made people more Self-conscious of their appearances. So i thought about using tape around the face to change there Appearance. I got this idea from looking at the book (Face: The New Photographic Portrait) and the artist I look at was Douglas Gordon.        I then thought about light and wondered if I used a different coloured flash light if the tape would Reflect. which it did but i was unsure as i feel in some images it made it Graeny. Also the Sellotape didnt stick on the face for long so i thought about using duck tape which worked better but with the sellotape as it was clear you could see how the tape moved your face and change the Appearance. where as with the ...

- I was still think about a space that Draws you in visually (so colour and patterns) mesmerising.almost Hypnotising and then it becomes jarring or have sound that will kind of want people to leave or Vibration - I kept Experimenting with patterns and playing around with Mirroring patterns and speed. when playing around with Reversing the patterns and sound it made me think of The Beatles -When I talked with Kathleen she spoke about telepath, Zener cards and mind control  I then watched a Short documentary about how in the Future the idea of using your mind to Control things. Brain cells communicate to each other by firing off tiny chemical and electric signals and when you think of something like disappear a particular pattern of brain waves are generate and thats what the head set picks up.But the head set at the Moment is imperfect as echo of the waves.
