maps and networks Evaluation

Image
Evaluation I stared this project with a very shake start not really knowing what to do for this project. I went from looking at Ben Langland's and Nikki Bell work about the air routes of the world to mapping time with light and shadows to then looking in to Objects that were abandoned on the street which I had done Previously as last year’s summer project, but I wanted to develop it and make an Installation. This is where I stay but I Calibrated with Ance ,Kylan and Brodie as we had ideas that were Similar. This was great as since I did the documentary last year I really enjoyed working as part of a team as you get to share your ideas and get feedback. I liked how if, I was unsure on something that I would always have someone there telling me their opinions on what I have done. With this project I really like the idea of placing objects in Unusual places where they wouldn’t Usually being. This made me question the objects which is what we wanted the Audie...

maps and networks editing

Image
Editing time!! As the editor it was my job to sort out the order of the objects and as i was looking at all the rushes i was think about my everyday life and what time of the day i would use these objects so i messaged the group chat a told them my idea for the lay out for the films which will help Ance and Brodie with Recording the sound.  Order  - jacket  - flowers  - tea  - camera - laptop - chair - light  - guitar  - shampoo - mirror - TV - throw  - books  - moon  After going though  the rushes and Finalising which shot would make the cut I Realise that some of the shot were to Shake so i had to use warp stabilizer to smooth it out without messing up the backgroud of the shot also I was finding it hard to use warp stabilizer as the sequence setting was different as we wanted it to be portrait so I just did it in landscape and then Exported the shake footage landscape. After ...

maps and networks filming

Image
Filming time  We started off quite slow, didnt help that we was carrying heavy Equipment and the objects to different Locations. we had a Struggle using the glide cam as we all tried to Figure out how to use it after only been Inducted to it briefly . i think we all wanted to use it but we was wasting more time by Figuring it out and not Actually filming. so we left the gilde cam and went out filming in farnham park. Even thought the filming bit wasn't my part we still worked together Especially when we was trying to figure out where to place the objects even thought ance took photos of the area Before hand. I did take a few shots and tried to keep Record of the shots but it was hard to keep track and we ended up using two cameras. me Attempting to keep a Record on what shots. For the flowers we picked a shot were there was a lot of Brown tweaks and leaves in looked like a little cave Surrounded by branches. I know that we was having some Problems with shoting on...

Maps and Networks now collaborating and pre Production

Maps and Networks  During study week I stared to film my ideas and hope to then develop them but as I was doing them they didn't go to plan. After the study week I was talking to Ance about my ideas and how an object can change value based on its environment and looking at the history of the object. Ance was telling me how she was working with objects as well and that we could combined our ideas which i thought was a good idea as i was stuck on what to do with my ideas.  Then after i said i would join, we ended up being a team of 4 me, Ance, Brodie and kylan we all had ideas that was Quite similar . my idea was being how an object can change value based on its environment and looking at the history of an object. Ance’s idea being looking into people’s connections with their belongings. Kylan’s idea being an abstract portrait of home and family relationships. Brodie’s idea being an investigation between peoples relationship with installation art, specifically focusing...

NoWhere As I was stuck on the poem i was working on ,I was looking at other poems. I knew that i wanted some think that was dark and had fantasy creatures as am looking at artemis fowl books and at the moment i am Interested in that kind of genres. I found this poem called NoWhere By Winter https://hellopoetry.com/poem/1492718/nowhere/ . when reading this poem i had a idea of what it would sound like and i wanted to tell a story with it . -part 1 -someone sitting in a dark corner of a castle which is their mind. part 2 - the person is traped and he can't seem to get out . part 3- where they are trapped they are being tortured by there own mind  sound list  i am going to use some of the sound that i used for the first piece of text i was going to do. - walking  -creaky noise - screams  - crying  -stabing sounds - sounds of different Creatures -whispering sounds -banging sounds - Castle sounds like a door - water dripp...

Poem 1 Pro Tools

Image
poem 1    when I got the brief I thought that I was going to find it easy, to choose a passage from a piece of text and create 30-60 sec soundscape. but it was a lot harder to find a piece of text that I really was into and could think of how it would sound. I started to look at short stories which then moved me on to poems. As I was looking at poems i remembered a poem i used to read when I was little. It was a poem by Alfred Noyes called The Highwayman. The only problem would be that i would need to cut the poem down which i didn't want to do as it wouldn't tell the hole story. so I then looked at another poem called The wicked path of destiny by Joseph.  https://www.familyfriendpoems.com/poem/in-the-shadows image of poem  my list of sounds  - walking  -something tearing (paper)  -snapping (hair) -creaky noise - war sounds ( fireworks, airsoft gun, shouting, screams) - glob spinning - crying  -stabi...

Role for the production

Grip - The role of the grip to build and maintain all the equipment that supports cameras. This equipment, which includes tripods, dollies, tracks, jibs, cranes, and static rigs, is constructed of delicate yet heavy duty parts . Grips assemble this equipment according to meticulous specifications and push, pull, mount or hang it from a variety of settings. The equipment can be as basic as a tripod standing on a studio floor, to hazardous operations such as mounting a camera on a 100 ft crane. Grips perform a crucial role in ensuring that the artifice of film is maintained, and that camera moves are as seamless as possible. Grips are usually requested by the DoP or the camera operator. Although the work is physically demanding and the hours are long, the work can be very rewarding. Many Grips work on both commercials and features.Grips work closely with the director, director of photography (DoP) and the camera operator to ensure that all p...

Maps and Networks research

Image
Maps and Networks research Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell - Air routes of the world Ben langlands and Nikki Bell made prints which is based on airline routes and networks across the world. The airports in this work are the dots on this print and they are Connected with these lines that makes this art piece Abstract and maybe mistaken for star constellations. this piece of work also show alternative map of the world and show us where is the most Popular locations. I like this piece as even though its doesn't show the map of the world you can still see the outline of different countries just by the airline routes.                         olafur eliasson I then looked at Olafur eliasson work called yellow versus purple which is at the tate. its an Installation Piece where a transparent yellow disc of c...

Maps and Networks

Image
Maps and Networks       For Maps and network the first thing I thought about was GPS and how Technology has changed to the point where the younger Generation will never really know what it is like to be lost. As I feel like I always turn to technology and the way it effects us so I tried to think of other ideas. Ideas 1. find objects that have been left and how the object could change based on its environment 2. The idea of mapping time with light and shadow                                    Some think like I have done here but more of them and keeping track of the time this would be split screen one side with the time of day and the other one of the shadows changeing and maybe recreating it on after effects.       ...

ORLAN

Image
ORLAN ORLAN is a French Artist, she does create sculptures, photographs but she is mostly know for for augmented reality ,using scientific and medical technics like surgery to her self. She is the first artist to use her body as a art form. She worked on her own body a lot and to put together the idea of private and the social which leads on to her talking about feminine struggles and how the body itself is political. But mostly her work is about questioning what beauty is and what makes something Beautiful and what is that Standard beauty. And the ideas that the different can be the norm.  With her surgery performances she is awake during the surgery. It was filmed live and she communicated and networked with people around the whole whilst being in surgery. One of the things I like about her surgery...

Summer project

Image
Aware Themes     Here are some themes that I was interested in. over the summer I was Influence by a Documentary series called Dark Tourist, which is about David Travelling to unusual and Dangerous places in the world, for example he went to Tomioka, which was evacuated during the Fukushima nuclear disaster, wherein he discovers higher than expected levels of radiation and to Cyprus, where he tries to sneak in to Famagusta, a walled off ghost city. watching this made me think about what radiation does to the Environment and does it effect the whole world? Air pollution Then I started to look at pollution and how we are effected like air pollution effects Asthmatic people and  may also trigger asthma as small particles in the air can pass through your nose or mouth and get into ...

Artist research

Image
Hannes Koch and Florian Ortkrass                   Rain room The artists I looked at was Hannes Koch and Florian Ortkrass, Rain Room art installation as I am interested in interactive artwork. the rain room is droplets of rain that full down but as you move through the room the rain doesn't hit you so you walking in the rain and not getting wet. During this installation piece they did get dance performers to move around the room as members of the public walked through . I like this piece of work, there is something that is quiet inviting moving through a rain room and not getting wet and seeing how the dancers move through out the room.

Summer project - Photo Series

Image
S ummer project - Photo Series  For my Photo series I wanted to show how one place can be divided as if you were in two different places, depending on your perspective and how the gentrified version of Woolwich has changed this place. Modern buildings are now being placed where there is strong historical significance, replacing the old with the new. I have thought about ways to develop my photos and how I would display them and where. Development For development i was thinking about going back to the photos before my final ones, where they had a black line going through them, and I thought maybe I should add the back line and still have two photos of the gentrified version and the old version over laping like my final ones. so this way i can still have the idea that you can be in one place but feel like your in another place but have this black line of space in between like the wall. How it would be display I thought ...

Multi Screen film

Image
Multi Screen film I didnt really know what i wanted to do for this project. I knew that i wanted it to be Abstract and that it was Relevant to the brief of human and Technology.  My ideas - I wanted to film my snake and Spiders and have that on one screen and then have the Digital version of there movements Like Cerith Wyn Evans: Forms in Space...by Light (in Time)                             Cerith Wyn Evans: Forms in Space...by Light (in Time)                         The sculpture is made from almost 2km of neon lighting, suspended from the ceiling and configured into straight lines, sweeping curves and spiralling forms. , Even (The Large Glass) 1915-23. The installation culminates ...
